Við Lónið Guesthouse

Við Lónið – guesthouse, is located in Seydisfjordur´s historic heart, overlooking the picturesque mountains, town centre and the unique lagoon. The house was built in 1907 by Tryggvi Gudmundsson. It´s one of the beautiful ready-made kit form houses, imported from Norway in the early 19th century. In the statuesque house, Tryggvi lived with his family and ran a little shop in a corner on the first floor. His daughter, Nina Tryggvadottir was born there and she became one of Iceland’s most renowned artists.

The house is a landmark in Seyðisfjörður´s shopping and service history. It´s taken on many different roles, f.ex. clothing and convenience store, art studio, home decor shop, café and it was the first diner in town to sell burgers and fries.

Our rooms
All our 8 rooms have beautiful view over the majestic mountains and the historic heart of Seyðisfjörður.
Room types:
* Deluxe rooms with balcony, have lagoon view, facing east. Size: 19,5-21m2.
* Deluxe rooms, oversee the landmark shopping and service street, Norðurgata, facing west. Size: 18,5-19,5 m2

The rooms are furnished  with modern Scandinavian decor. We use original wood from the house in the design with touches from local nature. There you can relax and enjoy the calm, yet inspiring atmosphere in Seyðisfjörður.
Every room features complimentary Wi-Fi, a coffee machine, private bathroom with walk in shower, free toiletries and a hairdryer.
